Veal calves would spend up to six days on lorries en route to Spain or Italy, BBC discovered
The ferry company P&O has announced it will immediately stop shipping live calves from Scotland after new welfare concerns emerged.
P&O Ferries said it would no longer allow calves to be carried on its services from Cairnryan in south-west Scotland to Larne in Northern Ireland, from where they are shipped via Ireland to Spain and Italy for veal production.
