Sharp rise in number of violent and sexual offences fuels increase, police figures reveal
Crimes recorded on Britain’s railways have increased by 17%, official figures show.
A sharp jump in the number of violent and sexual offences has fuelled this increase, with 61,159 crimes reported by British Transport Police (BTP) in 2017-18, up from 52,235 during the previous 12 months.
