Glastonbury travel: all looking good on roads and rail, so far

Although you can expect heavy delays around the site itself, getting there is proving no problem at the moment

The roads and railways are as clear as one might hope for as nearly 200,000 people descend on a farm on Somerset for this year’s Glastonbury festival.

Though there are severe delays on the roads in the immediate vicinity of the festival, with traffic management in place on the A37, A361 and A371, there are no problems on the M4 or M5, aside from the usual congestion around the outskirts of London. Even the A303 appears to be moving freely, with average speeds in excess of 50mph.
