Operation Stack: new lorry park will help ease M20 congestion
Construction to begin on Stanford West facility in Kent to minimise road disruption such as that during Calais refugee crisis
A major new lorry park is to be built to ease the misery inflicted on drivers when cross-Channel services go into meltdown, the government has announced.
About 3,600 lorries will be able to park at Stanford West in Kent to help keep traffic on the M20 and surrounding roads flowing during Operation Stack.
