RMT demands action on train overcrowding after tube accident
Union calls for safety summit, claiming its warnings about South Clapham in London, where a woman fell between platform and train, were ignored
A union is calling for crisis talks on rail and tube overcrowding after claiming it warned last week of potential problems at a London station where a woman fell between the platform and a train.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union said its warnings were ignored, adding that it has been flagging up “death trap” overcrowding for the past year.
