The HSE gives guidance relating the supervision of lifting operations on sites, particularly signalling and slinging of loads. Also published are approved codes of practice on the competence and training of staff supervising lifting operations.
The course aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of correct slinging and signalling and comprises of theoretical and practical instruction covering:

On completion of the course the training candidate will have a theoretical understanding of the following:

Testing
Continuous assessments will be made of candidates during the practical elements of the training followed by formal theoretical and practical skills testing in order to demonstrate competence.
Certification
Successful completion of the course will lead to the issue of an accredited ITSSAR certificate.
