Johnson criticised over decision to miss crunch Heathrow vote
Tory MPs who oppose the plan for a third runway say the foreign secretary should resign
Boris Johnson faces growing criticism from fellow Tory MPs for his decision to miss Monday night’s crunch vote as he claimed that resigning over his opposition to a third runway at Heathrow would have achieved “absolutely nothing”.
The foreign secretary, who is on a secretive visit to an as yet undisclosed part of the world, said he would continue to oppose the £14bn scheme with his ministerial colleagues behind closed doors.
